We continue to have girls coming! Last year we had two girls the whole year. We danced to the Ghostbusters theme song, sang "Aint No Mountain High Enough", and roared "The Lion Sleeps Tonight". There was even a dude in the back singing like a tropical bird, when the song ended he got caught as the only one singing.
We played a game called Bang The Pot; kids walk in a circle and have to form groups based on the number of times the pot gets banged. We also played a game where we had to pass the fruit around a circle with our necks, to avoid to much awkwardness, kids quickly turned it into an apple chucking contest. There is nothing like something planned to get you out of your comfort zone. To keep things interesting, we raffled off a giant marshmallow heart; it looked like an actual body part and contained nearly 2,000 calories.
To close out the night I shared Genesis 1. I focused on the fact that out of all of God's work he chose us to be created in his image. He must really cherish us, have pride in us, and have purpose for us, much like a father and his newborn baby. I asked the question, What might God be purposing in you?
Thanks for praying!
Corey
