First Young Life Club

This was our first Young Life Club of the year! We sang two songs, and from the feedback from kids, singing was their favorite part. The kids stood with arms over each others' shoulders sharing the love. We did a leader skit called, "If I Was Not In Young Life," and we had a pie eating contest which several boys absolutely ate up (no pun intended).

At the end, I shared what Young Life is really all about, RELATIONSHIPS! I shared how each one of our lives is a patchwork of memories and experiences forming together to create a beautiful quilt, and that we together will hopefully add a few more patches to our quilt by the end of the year. I shared that a few huge patches on my quilt were the impact of the Word of God on my life and Jesus. I expressed the amazing characteristics of the Bible and how the whole book written over the course of 1500 years points to Jesus. I invited the kids to begin a journey to find out more about God and I did this to the intro of Star Trek, "to explore strange new worlds; seek out new life and new civilizations; to boldly go where no man has gone before."

It was a really great night!

This blog is dedicated to displaying all things South Salem Young Life. Each week by Tuesday morning I will be posting a video of Monday's Club and a short summary of what happened. So check back every week to see what God is doing in the lives of kids at South. I will also post various tidbits of information throughout the year as well, such as special events, and cool things worth sharing.

Blessings to you all,
Corey
