Belated Thanksgiving Club

Whoooee! We are back at it after taking one week off for Thanksgiving. Of course we had to prolong the holiday by having a Thanksgiving theme Club. You can't have a Thanksgiving Club without feeding turkeys, shooting turkeys, and singing about turkeys. So, we did just that. We filled turkeys stomachs with balloons, the turkey with the most balloons in its stomach won, we shot "poisonous" Q-tips at human sized turkeys, and sang about how great our land is. You can't get much better than that.

At the end I shared how David knew God so well because he had spent so much time with him in the fields. When an angry giant stood against David's people and his God, he new he had to do something, and he knew God would give him victory. God didn't see David as a worthless shepard, but God saw David as a King. I encouraged kids to begin talking to God, because God doesn't see us as a worthless "fill in the blank", but God sees each one us for what he intends for us, and he definitely sees us slaying the giants in our lives so that we can be free. Only through knowing God can we know ourselves, only through knowing God can we truly have victory.
