If I were to say one thing about Club so far this year, I would say unpredictable. We have had a different crop of kids every week. This week half the club was new kids. Every week I pray that God brings at least one new kid and every since I've been praying that since middle of last year God has brought at least one new kid every single week. Hats off to all the leaders and all those who have come to help us. We have had 3-5 people from Relevant Life Church come and help us with media, running games, and cleaning up the facility. We have been so blessed to have them!
In Club this week we played the classic game of musical chairs. There is nothing better than seeing someone lunge at a chair, pile drive their neighbor, knock over the chair, all while having someone else steal the seat. We sang 500 miles and even threw in a worship song for the first time. As you can see the kids did a little can-can improvisation as well. The kids had fun! It has also been really cool to see kids begin to own Club. One of our Sophomores, Evan Beranek, has been drumming for us, and tonight he even led raffle from start to finish like a pro. That is really what Club is about, offering opportunities for kids to take the reigns, walk in their gifts, and lead their friends to Jesus.
For the second week in a row kids said there favorite part of Club was the message. Christian shared his testimony of losing his baby sister to SIDS, and how through seeking answers he not only found Jesus but found out his love for writing. Since that time he has wrote lyrics and songs to answer some of those very questions he had, but most importantly he is writing songs for God. The power of testimony was truly put on display tonight. Several kids approached leaders with questions about purpose and finding God afterward. Praise Jesus!!
Thanks for checking back each week. It encourages me to see people in the community interested in what God is doing in the lives of kids at South.
